English Definition
A methodology, approach, or set of procedures that has been demonstrated through experience and research to lead to desired outcomes reliably and efficiently, and is widely accepted within a professional community as a standard to be followed. Good practice is a less prescriptive term than best practice and acknowledges that multiple acceptable approaches may exist for achieving satisfactory results. In development finance, good practice guidelines inform project appraisal, environmental and social assessment, procurement, and fiduciary management across multilateral and bilateral lending institutions.
