English Definition
The condition of equipment, machinery, or infrastructure being properly maintained, fully operational, and capable of performing its intended function safely and efficiently in accordance with manufacturer specifications and applicable industry standards. In lease agreements, sale contracts, and project finance documentation, the obligation to maintain assets in good working order is a standard covenant that protects the interests of lessors, lenders, and insurers. Failure to maintain good working order may constitute an event of default or void insurance coverage applicable to the asset.
