English Definition
An official directive, decree, or executive instruction issued by a government authority that has the force of law and must be complied with by the entities or persons to whom it is addressed. In procurement, a government order refers to a purchase order placed by a government department or agency for the acquisition of goods, works, or services, subject to public procurement regulations. Government orders can also refer to regulatory directives that impose specific requirements on industries, such as environmental compliance orders or financial sector supervisory directives.
