Yatırımcının mevcut bir tesisi satın almak veya genişletmek yerine tamamen yeni bir tesis, fabrika veya operasyon kurduğu doğrudan yabancı yatırım veya yurt içi sermaye harcaması biçimidir. Sıfırdan yatırımlar yeni üretim kapasitesi oluşturur, istihdam yaratır ve ev sahibi ekonomiye yeni teknoloji kazandırır. Özellikle yeni üretim varlıkları, iletim hatları veya işleme tesislerinin daha önce geliştirilmemiş arazide kurulduğu enerji ve altyapı sektörlerinde büyük önem taşır.
English Definition
A form of foreign direct investment or domestic capital expenditure in which an investor establishes a completely new facility, plant, or operation rather than acquiring or expanding an existing one. Greenfield investments create new productive capacity, generate employment, and introduce fresh technology to the host economy. They are particularly significant in the energy and infrastructure sectors where new generation assets, transmission lines, or processing plants are developed on previously undeveloped land.
