English Definition
A legally binding agreement between a buyer and a finance company setting out the terms for acquiring goods through instalment payments. The contract specifies the purchase price, deposit, instalment amounts, interest charges, and the conditions under which ownership transfers to the buyer. Default provisions typically allow the finance company to repossess the goods if the buyer fails to maintain scheduled payments.
