English Definition
A legal agreement governing the temporary use of equipment, vehicles, or other assets in exchange for periodic rental payments. Unlike a hire-purchase contract, a hiring contract does not typically contemplate the transfer of ownership at the end of the term. In project construction, hiring contracts for heavy machinery and specialised equipment are essential components of the procurement and logistics framework.
