Proje finansmanında bu tür senetler çoğunlukla inşa sonrası, projenin nakit üretmeye başladığı dönemde ihraç edilir; zira faiz servisinin operasyonel nakit akışıyla eşleşmesi, borç servis karşılama oranının kredi verenlerin dayattığı eşiğin altına düşmesini engeller. Faizin sabit mi yoksa değişken mi olduğu, senedin ikincil piyasadaki fiyat oynaklığını ve dolayısıyla kurumsal alıcının talep ettiği likidite primini belirler.
English Definition
A debt security that pays periodic interest at a stated coupon rate on its face value, deriving its return from regular accrual rather than from the issue discount that characterises a zero-coupon instrument. In project financing such notes are typically placed once construction is complete and the asset begins generating cash, since matching interest service to operating cash flow keeps the debt service coverage ratio above the threshold lenders impose. Whether the coupon is fixed or floating governs the note's secondary-market price volatility and, in turn, the liquidity premium an institutional buyer demands.
