Bir tahvil ya da benzeri borçlanma aracının ihraççısının, elinde tutan yatırımcıya belirli aralıklarla ödemeyi taahhüt ettiği sabit ya da değişken faiz tutarıdır; tarihsel olarak fiziki tahvile iliştirilen ve ödeme anında koparılan kupondan adını alır. Proje tahvillerinde kupon oranı, projenin derecelendirme notu ile referans oran arasındaki spread'i yansıtır; bu spread, inşa riski geride kaldıkça daralabilir ve refinansman fırsatı doğurur. Kupon ödeme takviminin projenin nakit akış mevsimselliğiyle uyumu, likidite rezervi kalibrasyonunu doğrudan etkiler.
English Definition
The fixed or floating interest amount an issuer of a bond or similar instrument undertakes to pay the holder at set intervals, named for the detachable coupon once physically clipped from a paper bond at each payment. On project bonds the coupon rate reflects the spread between the project's rating and the reference rate, and that spread can narrow once construction risk recedes, opening a refinancing opportunity. The alignment of the coupon schedule with the project's cash-flow seasonality bears directly on how the liquidity reserve is sized.
