Proje finansmanında faiz oranı çoğunlukla bir referans oran ile bir marjın toplamından oluşur ve sabit mi değişken mi olduğu, projenin faiz riskini kimin taşıdığını belirler. Faiz oranındaki her yüz baz puanlık artış, yüksek kaldıraçlı bir projede özkaynak getirisini oransal olarak çok daha büyük bir tutarda aşındırır; bu duyarlılık, sponsorların faiz swap'ıyla oranı sabitleme eğiliminin arkasındaki asıl nedendir.
English Definition
The cost of interest payable on borrowed principal for a given period, expressed as a percentage; the core variable pricing the time value of money and the credit risk assumed. In project finance the interest rate is usually the sum of a reference rate and a margin, and whether it is fixed or floating determines who bears the project's rate risk. Every hundred basis points of increase erodes the equity return of a highly leveraged project by a proportionally far greater amount, and this sensitivity is the real reason sponsors tend to fix the rate with an interest swap.
