English Definition
A professional umbrella body that promotes the international organization, standardization and preservation of archives and the records-management discipline. Though not a financial institution, the retention and recordkeeping principles it advances touch a neglected layer of project finance, because the ability to present the full chain of permits, contracts and amendments of a long-lived project years later, at the moment of a sale or refinancing, depends less on the depth of the data room than on whether recordkeeping discipline was institutionalized from the outset.
