Bu endeksler yalnızca ölçüm aracı değildir; bir sermayenin hangi ülkelere ve sektörlere ne ağırlıkta aktığını fiilen yönlendirir, zira pasif fonların endeks bileşimini birebir replike etme zorunluluğu, bir ülkenin ya da bir sektörün endekse dahil edilmesini ya da ağırlığının artırılmasını, temeldeki şirketlerin görünürlüğünden bağımsız, otomatik bir sermaye girişine dönüştürür.

A benchmark that aggregates the securities of multiple countries under a defined methodology to gauge global or regional market performance. Such indices are not merely measurement tools; they actively steer which countries and sectors capital flows into and in what weight, because the obligation of passive funds to replicate the index composition converts a country's or a sector's inclusion, or an increase in its weighting, into an automatic capital inflow that is independent of the visibility of the underlying companies.
