English Definition
An employee who develops a new line of business, product or structure within an existing organization, deploying its resources and authority with an entrepreneurial logic. In corporate finance the significance of this figure goes beyond an organizational curiosity, because when a large industrial group or holding builds a new project-development pipeline through an intrapreneur rather than spinning it out to an external venture, it preserves the advantage of institutional memory and capital access. The price of that choice, however, is often the tension between formal authority and earned legitimacy carried all the way to financial close.
