Gayrikabili rücu akreditif, amir bankanın lehtar rızası olmaksızın iptal edemeyeceği ya da şartlarını değiştiremeyeceği; uygun vesaik ibraz edildiğinde ödeme yükümlülüğünü kesinleştiren akreditif türüdür. UCP 600 kuralları altında aksine açık bir kayıt yoksa her akreditif gayrikabili rücu sayılır. Proje finansmanında bu araç yalnızca mal ithalatı ödemesinde değil, teminat mektubu işlevi gören standby akreditif olarak da kullanılır; sponsorun performans ya da ödeme yükümlülüğünü destekleyen bu yapıda, bankanın ödeme kararının altta yatan sözleşme ihtilafından bağımsız olması (autonomy prensibi) finansör için asıl güvence katmanıdır.
English Definition
An irrevocable letter of credit is one the issuing bank can neither cancel nor amend without the beneficiary's consent, crystallizing its payment obligation once conforming documents are presented. Under the UCP 600 rules, every credit is deemed irrevocable absent an express contrary stipulation. In project finance the instrument serves not only to pay for imported goods but also, as a standby letter of credit, performs a guarantee function; where it supports a sponsor's performance or payment obligation, the autonomy principle—that the bank's decision to pay stands independent of the underlying contractual dispute—is the true layer of protection for the lender.
