İşletme açısından hayati önemdeki bir kişinin ölümü ya da iş görememesi hâlinde tazminatın doğrudan şirkete ödendiği hayat/maluliyet sigortasıdır; amaç, gelir kaybını ve yerine koyma maliyetini karşılamaktır. Kurucuya veya tek bir teknik yetkinliğe aşırı bağımlı geliştiricilerde kredi verenler bu poliçeyi çoğu zaman bir ön koşul olarak talep eder ve poliçe haklarının kendilerine temlik edilmesini (assignment) ister. Böylece kilit kişi kaybı, borç servisini tehdit eden bir olaydan, sigorta tahsilatıyla köprülenen bir likidite olayına dönüşür.
English Definition
Life or disability insurance on a person vital to the business, with the proceeds payable directly to the company, intended to cover lost income and the cost of replacement. Where a developer is overly dependent on a founder or a single technical competence, lenders often require the policy as a condition precedent and insist that the policy rights be assigned to them. The loss of a key individual is thereby converted from an event that threatens debt service into a liquidity event bridged by an insurance recovery.
