Bir enerji santralinin net elektriksel çıktı gücünü, ürettiği termal güçten (kWth) ayırmak için kullanılan ölçü birimidir. Bu ayrım önemsiz görünse de finansmanın kalbindedir; kapasite ödemeleri ve PPA gelir taahhütleri termal değil, şebekeye verilebilen net elektrik kapasitesi üzerinden hesaplanır. Kritik nokta, brüt ile net kapasite arasındaki farkı yaratan yardımcı tesis (parasitic load) tüketiminin çoğu zaman hafife alınması ve bu boşluğun gelir modelinde doğrudan bir eksilme olarak belirmesidir; bilhassa kojenerasyon projelerinde bu kalibrasyon belirleyicidir.
English Definition
A unit of measure used to distinguish a power plant's net electrical output from the thermal power it produces (kWth). Trivial as the distinction may seem, it lies at the heart of financing, since capacity payments and PPA revenue commitments are calculated on the net electrical capacity that can be delivered to the grid, not on thermal output. The critical point is that the parasitic load consumption creating the gap between gross and net capacity is often underestimated, and that gap appears as a direct shortfall in the revenue model, a calibration that is decisive in cogeneration projects in particular.
