Ödemenin vadesinden fiilen tahsil edildiği tarihe kadar gecikmiş tutarlar üzerinden işletilen ek faizdir. Gecikme faizi, gecikme nedeniyle kaybedilen paranın zaman değeri için alacaklıyı tazmin eder. Genellikle sözleşme faiz oranının üzerine belirli bir marjla hesaplanır ve proje finansmanı dokümantasyonunda standart bir temerrüt hükmüdür.
English Definition
Additional interest charged on overdue amounts that accrues from the date payment was due until the date it is actually received. Late payment interest compensates the creditor for the time value of money lost due to the delay. It is commonly calculated at a specified margin above the contractual interest rate and is a standard default remedy in project finance documentation.
