Borçlunun varlıkların fiziksel zilyetliğini kredi verene devretmeksizin kredi için teminat olarak gösterdiği belgedir. Borçlu ipotek edilen varlıkların kullanımını sürdürürken kredi verene üzerlerinde rehin hakkı verir. Borçluların olağan iş akışı içinde yönetmeye devam ettikleri stok veya alacakları teminat gösterdiği ticaret finansmanında yaygındır.
English Definition
A document by which a borrower pledges assets as security for a loan without transferring physical possession of those assets to the lender. The borrower retains use of the hypothecated assets while granting the lender a charge over them. Letters of hypothecation are common in trade finance where borrowers pledge inventory or receivables that they continue to manage in the ordinary course of business.
