English Definition
The legal status of being responsible for the fulfilment of specified contractual, statutory, or financial obligations. A party that is liable for obligations may face legal enforcement, including seizure of assets or garnishment of income, in the event of non-performance. In project finance, the allocation of which parties are liable for specific obligations is documented in intercreditor and project agreements.
