English Definition
The life of a contract refers to the entire duration from the effective date of a contractual agreement to its expiration, completion, or termination. It encompasses all active phases during which the parties's rights and obligations remain in force. In project finance, the life of key contracts such as power purchase agreements, concession agreements, and offtake contracts must align with the loan tenor to ensure adequate revenue coverage for debt service.
