Bir varlığın ya da faaliyetin üretmesi beklenen brüt gelirin, kesinti, arıza, talep düşüşü veya erişilebilirlik kaybı nedeniyle gerçekleşmeyen kısmını ifade eder; kâr kaybından farkı, maliyet düşülmeden önceki hasılat düzeyinde ölçülmesidir. Enerji projelerinde gelir kaybının en tipik kaynağı fiziksel hasar değil, şebeke kısıtı (curtailment) ve erişilebilirlik altı performanstır; santral üretmeye hazır olsa bile şebeke almadığında hasılat doğmaz. PPA yapısında bu riskin al-ya-da-öde hükmü veya erişilebilirlik garantisiyle karşı tarafa aktarılıp aktarılamadığı, borcun boyutlandırılmasında belirleyici olur.
English Definition
The portion of gross revenue an asset or operation was expected to produce but does not, owing to interruption, outage, demand decline, or loss of availability; it differs from loss of profit in being measured at the top line, before costs are deducted. In power projects the classic source of revenue loss is not physical damage but grid curtailment and sub-availability performance — a plant may stand ready to generate, yet earn nothing when the grid will not take its output. Whether that risk is shifted to the counterparty through a take-or-pay clause or an availability guarantee in the PPA becomes decisive in sizing the debt.
