Bir değişkenin altına inmesine izin verilmeyen taban değeri ifade eder; sözleşmesel ya da finansal bağlamda bir eşiği işaretler. Proje finansmanında bu kavramın en bağlayıcı biçimi, borç servis karşılama oranı gibi bir metriğe konan alt sınırdır: oran bu taban altına düştüğünde kilit-hesap (lock-up) devreye girer, temettü dağıtımı durur ve nakit projede hapsolur. Alt sınırın nerede kalibre edildiği, sponsor ile kredi veren arasındaki asıl pazarlık hattıdır; çok yükseğe konan bir taban, sağlıklı bir projede dahi özkaynak getirisini geçici sarsıntılarda kilitleyerek sermayenin fiili maliyetini artırır.
English Definition
The floor value below which a variable is not permitted to fall, marking a threshold in a contractual or financial context. In project finance its most binding form is the lower limit placed on a metric such as the debt service coverage ratio: once the ratio drops below that floor a lock-up is triggered, distributions cease, and cash is trapped in the project. Where the floor is calibrated is the real negotiating line between sponsor and lender, since a floor set too high locks up equity return in a sound project during transient dips and raises the effective cost of capital.
