Kavram, bir yatırımın basitçe zarar etmesinden farklıdır; sorunun kaynağı fiyat sinyalinin bozulmasıdır. Proje finansmanında bu dinamik, ucuz finansman dönemlerinde aşırı kapasite inşasında görünür hâle gelir: faiz normalleştiğinde, marjinal projelerin nakit akışı borç servisini karşılayamaz ve yeniden yapılandırma dalgası tam da bu birikmiş yanlış tahsisin tasfiyesidir.
English Definition
A misallocation of capital arising when resources are channeled, out of step with real demand and relative scarcity, into unsustainable uses; it typically accumulates where artificially low interest makes projects appear more profitable than they truly are. The concept differs from an investment that merely loses money, because the root of the problem is a distorted price signal. In project finance this dynamic surfaces as overcapacity built during periods of cheap financing: once rates normalize, the cash flow of marginal projects cannot cover debt service, and the ensuing wave of restructuring is precisely the liquidation of that accumulated misallocation.
