English Definition
A brief assessment issued at the close of a trading day or week summarizing the market's principal moves, sectoral divergences and defining events, usually published by a brokerage or the financial media. Its function is less to present raw data than to fit a narrative frame around the day's price action. Although project finance does not use these tools directly, the capital-markets desk's timing of a bond-issuance window rests on such sentiment readings, since a daily market wrap, when it accumulates a view on the direction of rates and credit spreads, becomes part of the collective perception feeding the decision of which day to price the issuance.
