Bir yatırımın ya da poliçenin vadesinde ödenecek toplam tutardır; anapara ile vade boyunca biriken faiz, prim ya da kâr payının toplamını ifade eder ve enstrümanın ihraç ya da başlangıç değerinden ayrılır. Faiz getiren birikimli ürünlerde bu değer, bileşik getirinin zaman içinde nasıl büyüdüğünü gösteren nihai ölçüdür. Sıfır kuponlu tahvil ve birikimli hayat poliçesi gibi yapılarda vade değeri baştan bellidir, ancak yatırımcının eline geçen reel tutar enflasyon ve vade öncesi bozdurmada uygulanan iskonto nedeniyle bu nominal rakamın gerisinde kalabilir.
English Definition
The total amount payable on an investment's or policy's maturity; it is the sum of principal plus the interest, premium or profit share accumulated over the term, and is distinct from the instrument's issue or inception value. In interest-bearing accumulation products this value is the final measure of how compound return has grown over time. In structures such as zero-coupon bonds and endowment life policies the mature value is known from the outset, yet the real amount reaching the investor can fall short of this nominal figure because of inflation and the discount applied on early surrender.
