English Definition
The payment schedule in a debt arrangement specifying on which dates and in what amounts principal and interest are to be repaid; it is the core timetable that actually governs the cash flow of a loan agreement. The shape of this schedule — equal-instalment amortisation, an increasing-balance profile, or a lump-sum balloon at maturity — directly determines the burden the borrower carries in each period. In project finance the payment schedule is often shaped to the project's projected cash flow; if the payment dates are not aligned with the periods in which revenue arises, even a sound project can see a temporary cash-timing mismatch push DSCR below its threshold in particular quarters.
