The standardised rules, methods, and practices adopted by a country for measuring and recording its economic activity, including the computation of gross domestic product, national income, and balance of payments. These conventions follow international frameworks such as the UN System of National Accounts while incorporating country-specific adaptations. They provide the statistical foundation for government fiscal policy, central bank decisions, and international economic comparisons.
