Bir yatırımın ömrü boyunca gelecekteki nakit girişlerinin bugünkü değeri ile nakit çıkışlarının bugünkü değeri arasındaki fark olup uygun sermaye maliyetiyle iskonto edilir. Pozitif NBD yatırımın değer yaratmasının beklendiğini, negatif NBD ise değer tahribatını gösterir. NBD, proje finansmanı, kurumsal yatırım kararları ve altyapı değerlendirmesinde en yaygın kullanılan sermaye bütçeleme tekniğidir.
English Definition
The difference between the present value of future cash inflows and the present value of cash outflows over the life of an investment, discounted at an appropriate cost of capital. A positive NPV indicates that the investment is expected to create value, while a negative NPV suggests value destruction. NPV is the most widely used capital budgeting technique in project finance, corporate investment decisions, and infrastructure appraisal.
