Temel dışı işlerin elden çıkarılması, karmaşıklığı azaltmak, finansal performansı iyileştirmek ve daha yüksek getirili faaliyetlere yeniden yatırım için nakit üretmek amacıyla yaygın bir kurumsal stratejidir. Proje finansmanında borç verenler genellikle proje şirketlerinin yalnızca projeye odaklanmasını ve temel dışı faaliyetlerde bulunmamasını talep eder.

An enterprise or business segment that does not constitute the principal activity or strategic focus of a company or group. Divestiture of non-core businesses is a common corporate strategy to reduce complexity, improve financial performance, and generate cash for reinvestment in higher-return activities. In project finance, lenders typically require that project companies maintain focus exclusively on the project and do not engage in non-core business activities.
