Petrolün aranması, üretilmesi, satılması ya da işlenmesine ilişkin hak ve yükümlülükleri düzenleyen sözleşme; üretim paylaşım anlaşmasından (production sharing agreement) uzun vadeli ham petrol alım sözleşmesine kadar geniş bir yelpazeyi kapsar. Proje finansmanında petrol sözleşmesinin yapısı, gelir riskinin kimde kaldığını belirler; sabit fiyatlı bir alım taahhüdü borç servisini öngörülebilir kılarken, spot fiyata endeksli bir yapı emtia fiyat riskini doğrudan projeye yükler. Kredi verenler bu tür sözleşmelerde çoğu kez fiyat tabanı (floor) ya da hedge zorunluluğu talep ederek, emtia volatilitesinin DSCR üzerindeki etkisini sınırlamayı arar.
English Definition
A contract governing the rights and obligations relating to the exploration, production, sale, or processing of oil, spanning a wide range from a production sharing agreement to a long-term crude purchase contract. In project finance the structure of an oil contract determines where revenue risk sits; a fixed-price offtake commitment makes debt service predictable, whereas a structure indexed to spot prices loads commodity price risk directly onto the project. Lenders frequently require a price floor or a hedging obligation in such contracts, seeking to limit the effect of commodity volatility on the DSCR.
