Bir opsiyon sözleşmesinde hakkı karşı tarafa tanıyan, yani opsiyonu satan ya da veren taraftır; opsiyon veren ya da opsiyon lehtarı olarak da anılır. Aldığı prim karşılığında, opsiyon sahibinin talebi hâlinde dayanak varlığı sözleşmedeki koşullarla teslim etme ya da devralma yükümlülüğünü üstlenir, bu nedenle pozisyonu asimetriktir. Proje geliştirmede arazisini opsiyona bağlayan malik opsiyon verendir; opsiyon süresince arazisini bir başkasına satamaz, yani prim karşılığında likiditesini ve pazarlık esnekliğini geliştirici lehine dondurmuş olur.
English Definition
The party that grants the right to the other side under an option contract, that is, the one who sells or writes the option, also called the optionor. In return for the premium it collects, it assumes the obligation to deliver or take up the underlying on the agreed terms should the optionee exercise, an inherently asymmetric position. In project development a landowner who options its parcel is the optioner; barred from selling elsewhere during the term, it has effectively frozen its own liquidity and bargaining flexibility in the developer's favor for the price of the premium.
