Bir tesisin devre dışı kaldığı süre boyunca katlanılan doğrudan ve dolaylı maliyetlerin toplamıdır; kaybedilen satış geliri, ikame enerji ya da ürün tedariki, sözleşmeye bağlı ceza ödemeleri ve bakım-onarım giderleri bu maliyeti oluşturur. Plansız bir kesintide bu kalem yalnızca onarım gideriyle sınırlı kalmaz, çoğu zaman en ağır bileşen kaçırılan gelir ve alıcıya ödenen tazminattır. Proje finansmanında bu risk, işletme kesinti sigortası (business interruption / DSU) ile teminat altına alınır; kredi verenler poliçenin bekleme süresini (waiting period) ve azami tazminat süresini, borç servis rezervinin yeterliliğiyle birlikte değerlendirir.
English Definition
Outage cost is the sum of direct and indirect costs borne while a plant is off-line: lost sales revenue, replacement energy or product supply, contractual penalty payments and repair expenses. In a forced outage this figure is not confined to repair spend; the heaviest component is often forgone revenue and compensation paid to the offtaker. In project finance the risk is covered by business-interruption or delay-in-startup insurance, and lenders assess the policy's waiting period and maximum indemnity duration alongside the adequacy of the debt-service reserve.
