English Definition
Outgoing inventory denotes the flow of goods and materials shipped out of a firm's stock into sale or production—the counterpart of incoming inventory and a numerator of stock turnover. Its rhythm directly determines the speed of conversion to cash and the working-capital requirement. In project finance, particularly in manufacturing or commodity projects, matching outgoing inventory to delivery documents is the core of collateral monitoring; in borrowing-base facilities the pledged stock's depletion through shipment simultaneously lowers the available credit limit, and any breakdown in that synchronization raises a lender's fear of over-advance.
