Belirli bir girdi bileşimi ve teknoloji düzeyi altında üretilebilecek azami çıktı bileşimlerini gösteren teorik sınırdır; bu sınır üzerindeki her nokta teknik verimliliği, sınırın altındaki her nokta ise kaynak israfını temsil eder ve iki ürün arasındaki dönüşüm oranını ile fırsat maliyetini görselleştirir. Proje finansmanında bu kavram, bir tesisin nominal kapasitesi ile fiilen sürdürülebilir üretim düzeyi arasındaki farkı düşünmek için kullanışlıdır; kredi verenler bir varlığı teorik sınırında değil, verimlilik kaybı, bakım duruşları ve bozunma (degradation) düşüldükten sonraki gerçekçi işletme noktasında modellemek zorundadır, aksi halde borç servis örtüsü sistematik olarak fazla tahmin edilir.
English Definition
The output frontier is the theoretical boundary showing the maximum combinations of output producible under a given input mix and technology level; every point on it represents technical efficiency, every point beneath it a waste of resources, and it visualizes the rate of transformation and opportunity cost between two products. In project finance the concept is useful for reasoning about the gap between a plant's nameplate capacity and its actually sustainable production level; lenders must model an asset not at its theoretical frontier but at the realistic operating point after efficiency losses, maintenance downtime and degradation, or debt-service coverage is systematically overstated.
