Proje finansmanında üretim ya da satış rakamlarının fazla raporlanması, borç servisi kapsama oranını (DSCR) yapay olarak iyileştirerek covenant ihlalini geçici olarak gizleyebilir; bağımsız denetçi ve teknik danışmanın periyodik doğrulaması ile nakit hesaplarının fiili hareketi, bu sapmanın er ya da geç açığa çıktığı iki bağımsız kontrol noktasıdır.
English Definition
The declaration of a financial item — revenue, assets, output, or reserves — above its true level, whether from deliberate manipulation or an aggressive accounting choice, the effect being that the statements appear healthier than they are. In project finance, overreporting production or sales figures can artificially improve the debt service coverage ratio and temporarily mask a covenant breach; the independent auditor's and technical adviser's periodic verification, together with the actual movement of cash accounts, are the two independent checkpoints at which the deviation eventually surfaces.
