Fazla stokun bilançoda taşınan değeri ile gerçekte sağlayacağı nakit arasındaki fark, teminata dayalı finansmanda borrowing base'e uygulanan iskontonun temel gerekçesidir; kredi veren, döner varlıklar arasında en likit görünen kalemin tasfiye anında çoğu zaman en büyük değer kaybını yaşadığını bildiğinden, fazla stoku teminat değerinden büyük ölçüde düşer.
English Definition
The surplus inventory items that exceed a firm's demand forecast and must be disposed of, usually clearing through discounted liquidation channels or the secondary market. The gap between the value at which overstocks are carried on the balance sheet and the cash they actually realize is the core justification for the haircut applied to the borrowing base in asset-based finance; knowing that the seemingly most liquid current asset often suffers the largest loss on liquidation, the lender discounts overstocks heavily from collateral value.
