English Definition
A pair of accounts opened in linked fashion for a specific purpose and monitored with their movements matched, typically with one forming the offsetting leg or the source of set-off for the other. The pairing eases netting and ring-fencing discipline, preventing funds from commingling. In the cash-management architecture of project finance this logic appears where a revenue account and a debt-service reserve account, or an escrow and its payment account, are positioned as a pair; the paired structure is itself the control mechanism, since it lets lenders supervise the order in which, and the trigger on which, cash moves through the waterfall.
