Deniz ve mal sigortasında, sigortalı menkulün tam ziyaına değil bir kısmının hasar görmesine karşılık gelen, toplam kayıptan ayrı tutulan kısmi zarardır. Sigortalı değerin gerçek değerin altında beyan edildiği hâllerde çoğu poliçe eksik sigorta (average) koşulunu işleterek tazminatı beyan oranı kadar orantılı olarak indirir; bu, sigortalının çoğu zaman farkında olmadan taşıdığı en yaygın gizli boşluktur. Altyapı ve inşaat projelerinde teçhizatın nakliye ve montaj aşamasındaki kısmi hasarları, all-risk poliçesinin muafiyet ve orantı hükümleriyle birlikte okunmadıkça tam tazmin edilmiş sayılamaz.
English Definition
In marine and property insurance, a partial loss corresponding to damage to part rather than the total destruction of the insured property, kept distinct from a total loss. Where the sum insured is declared below true value, most policies apply the average condition and reduce the indemnity pro rata to the degree of under-insurance, which is the most common hidden gap an insured carries unawares. On infrastructure and construction projects, partial damage to equipment in transit or erection cannot be treated as fully indemnified unless read together with the deductible and average provisions of the all-risk policy.
