Finansal sözleşmelerde yüzde ile baz puan arasındaki ayrım kritik bir titizlik gerektirir; nitekim bir kredi marjının 'yüzde' mi yoksa baz puan mı üzerinden ifade edildiğine dair belirsizlik, büyük hacimli işlemlerde kayda değer bir tutar farkı doğurabilir ve sözleşmelerde bu nedenle oranlar çoğu zaman hem rakamla hem yazıyla teyit edilir.
English Definition
The basic unit expressing a quantity as a proportion per hundred, the standard language of interest, yield, share and rate of change. In financial contracts the distinction between per cent and basis points, each a hundredth of a percentage point, demands real precision, since ambiguity over whether a loan margin is expressed in percent or in basis points can produce a material difference on a large transaction. For that reason rates in agreements are frequently confirmed both in figures and in words to foreclose the dispute.
