Teminatın yürürlükte olduğu, poliçenin başlangıç ve bitiş tarihleriyle sınırlanan zaman dilimidir. Proje finansmanında inşaat dönemi teminatlarından (CAR/EAR ve DSU) işletme dönemi teminatlarına (mülk ve iş kesintisi) geçişin, ticari işletmeye alma anında kesintisiz gerçekleşmesi gerekir. İki sigorta döneminin sınırında açılan kısa bir boşluk dahi teminatsız bir pencere yaratır; kredi verenler bu riski, sigorta covenant'ları ve kredi verenin poliçeye zeyilname ile eklenmesi (lender endorsement) yoluyla yakın takibe alır.
English Definition
The span, bounded by inception and expiry dates, during which cover is in force. In project finance the handover from construction-phase policies (CAR/EAR and DSU) to operational-phase policies (property and business interruption) must be seamless at commercial operation. Even a short gap at the boundary between two periods of insurance creates an uninsured window; lenders police this through insurance covenants and by requiring lender endorsements, so that any lapse or non-renewal is notified and cured before cover falls away.
