English Definition
The on-site confirmation that an asset, inventory item or unit of work genuinely exists and is in the condition its records describe. For lenders this is the control that verifies the asset declared in a security instrument or on a balance sheet is not an abstract entry but a real, seizable value; in cross-border projects, who performs on-site verification and how often is a neglected negotiation item that determines the actual worth of the security package.
