English Definition
A logistics service covering the collection of goods from a consignor's designated point and their conveyance to the consignee's designated place; it defines the terminal links of the delivery chain. In the supply chain of capital-intensive projects the crux is the point at which delivery responsibility and risk transfer; once Incoterms fix the pickup and delivery points in the contract, the definition of those points determines who bears the insurance and liquidated-damages burden should heavy equipment be delayed or damaged.
