English Definition
The final point to which goods are to be conveyed for delivery under a contract of carriage. In international procurement how the place of destination is defined in the contract is the core of the Incoterms rule that fixes the moment at which risk and cost pass from seller to buyer; in the delivery of project equipment, the precision of the phrase 'named place of destination' determines who bears responsibility in the event of delay, damage or customs liability, and is the axis on which most disputes turn.
