Rehin hamili, varlığı ne borçlu ne de doğrudan alacaklı lehine değil, sözleşmeyle tanımlanan koşullar gerçekleşene kadar tarafsız biçimde muhafaza eder. English Definition
The party that physically holds the pledged asset on the pledgee's behalf or as a trusted third party between the parties, functioning in pledge types that require transfer of possession. The pledgeholder keeps the asset neutrally, in favour of neither debtor nor creditor directly, until the conditions defined by contract are met. In project financing this role is institutionalised as an escrow agent or custodian; keeping cash or securities collateral separate from the parties' access until drawdown conditions are satisfied is a structural safeguard that preserves the integrity of the security.
