Tazminatı, poliçeyi fiilen elinde bulunduran hamiline ödenebilen, ismen bir lehtara bağlı olmayan sigorta poliçesidir; devri, ciro ya da bildirim gerektirmeksizin belgenin zilyetliğinin el değiştirmesiyle gerçekleşir. Bu serbest devredilebilirlik, teminatın kime ait olduğunu izlemeyi güçleştirdiği için proje finansmanında kredi verenler hamiline poliçe yerine lehtar kaydı açıkça finansöre bağlanmış nama yazılı poliçe talep eder. Aksi takdirde, hasar bedeli borçlunun kontrolü dışında üçüncü bir elde temizlenip alacaklının teminat zincirini kırabilir.
English Definition
An insurance policy whose proceeds are payable to whoever physically holds the document, rather than to a named beneficiary, so that transfer occurs simply by handing over possession, without endorsement or notice. Because that free transferability makes it hard to track who owns the cover, project finance lenders reject bearer policies in favour of named policies whose beneficiary clause is expressly tied to the financier. Otherwise the loss proceeds could clear in a third party's hands beyond the borrower's control and break the creditor's security chain.
