Avrupa Birliği üyesi olmakla birlikte euroya geçmemiş bir ekonominin parası olarak zloti, Polonya'daki proje finansmanında yerel gelir ile euro ya da dolar cinsi borç arasında bir kur katmanı yaratır; nitekim görece derin bir yerel tahvil ve swap piyasasının varlığı, bu uyumsuzluğun diğer birçok geçiş ekonomisine kıyasla daha düşük maliyetle hedge edilmesine imkân tanır.
English Definition
The official currency of Poland, denoted PLN; the present 'new zloty' was created through a redenomination following a period of high inflation, at one-thousandth of the value of the old zloty. As the currency of an EU member that has not adopted the euro, the zloty introduces an exchange-rate layer between local revenue and euro- or dollar-denominated debt in Polish project financing. The existence of a relatively deep domestic bond and swap market, however, allows that mismatch to be hedged at lower cost than in many other transition economies.
