English Definition
In UK balance sheet format, a current asset line combining prepaid expenses with income earned but not yet collected, arising from the application of the accruals principle. In a project company's accounts, accrued income may include interest that has run but not yet been received on a debt service reserve account balance; the size of this line signals how far the project's cash buffers are themselves generating return and helps a reader gauge the true timing of free cash, distinct from what the profit line alone shows.
