Belirli bir mal ve hizmet sepetinin fiyat düzeyindeki değişimi zaman içinde ölçen ağırlıklı göstergedir; tüketici fiyat endeksi (CPI) ve üretici fiyat endeksi (PPI) başlıca örneklerdir. Proje gelirleri ve işletme-bakım maliyetleri çoğu zaman bir fiyat endeksine bağlanır: PPA'larda gelir CPI ile eskale edilirken O&M sözleşmeleri PPI'ya endekslenebilir; gelir ve maliyet hatlarının farklı endekslere bağlanması, kredi verenlerin yakından incelediği bir baz riski (basis risk) yaratır, zira iki endeksin ayrışması borç servis marjını sessizce aşındırır.
English Definition
A weighted measure of the change over time in the price level of a defined basket of goods and services, with the consumer price index (CPI) and producer price index (PPI) being the principal examples. Project revenues and operating and maintenance costs are often linked to a price index: revenue may escalate with CPI under a PPA while O&M contracts index to PPI; tying the revenue and cost lines to different indices creates a basis risk that lenders examine closely, since a divergence between the two quietly erodes the debt service margin the base case relies on.
