Asıl borçlunun kimliği, sınırlı rücu esaslı proje finansmanında özel önem taşır; çünkü borç, sponsorun değil, tek amaçlı proje şirketinin üzerindedir ve alacaklının başvuru hakkı kural olarak bu tüzel kişinin varlık ve nakit akışıyla sınırlıdır. Sponsorun sorumluluğu ancak açık bir garanti ya da tamamlama taahhüdü ile ve o taahhüdün kapsamı ölçüsünde devreye girer.
English Definition
The party bearing the payment obligation at first hand and directly in a debt relationship; unlike secondary obligors such as a surety or guarantor, the creditor turns to it first for recovery. The identity of the primary debtor matters especially in limited-recourse project financing, because the debt sits on the single-purpose project company, not the sponsor, and the creditor's recourse is as a rule confined to that entity's assets and cash flow. The sponsor's liability engages only through an explicit guarantee or completion undertaking, and only to the extent of that undertaking's scope.
