Kredilendirmede, faiz hariç geri ödenmesi gereken orijinal borç tutarı. Tahviller için anapara vadede iade edilen nominal değere eşittir. Anapara ödemeleri ödenmemiş kredi bakiyesini azaltır. İtfa edilebilir kredilerde ödemeler hem anapara hem de faiz içerir ve oran zamanla anaparaya doğru kayar. Vekalet ilişkilerinde anapara, bir temsilciye kendi adına hareket etme yetkisi veren tarafı ifade eder.

In lending, the original amount borrowed that must be repaid, excluding interest. For bonds, principal equals the face value returned at maturity. Principal payments reduce the outstanding loan balance. In amortizing loans, payments include both principal and interest, with the proportion shifting toward principal over time. In agency relationships, principal refers to the party who authorizes an agent to act on their behalf.
