English Definition
The specified calendar day on which a principal instalment falls due and the borrower is obliged to pay, generally matched to interest period ends and to the dates on which project revenues are collected. Fixing these dates is not merely a scheduling exercise; the first principal repayment is typically deferred until after construction completion and commercial operation, once the debt service reserve is funded, since the project generates no cash during the build. A shift of the date under a business day convention also adjusts accrued interest, a detail that repays close reading in the definitions.
